The Mission of Second Missionary Baptist Church is born out of the Great Commission as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20:
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven
and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of
the world. Amen.
Our Mission is to be witnesses to Christ!!
We witness to Christ through our worship as believers united through our faith in the
Lordship of our Savior.
Our Mission is to be servants in this community!!
We serve others in the various outreaches of the ministries of the church. We believe
that it is crucial for the church to care for and about the various needs and concerns
that affect the lives of people.
Our Mission is to proclaim the message of Salvation!!
We faithfully gather at designated times for personal edification through the study of
the Word. Through our personal and corporate studies, we are equipped and
empowered to share the gospel of redemption and reconciliation.
Our Mission is to be good stewards as believers!!
We believe that stewardship is the outgrowth of ones faith. As stewards we recognize
that stewardship involves how we reinvest through the church God's gift of time,
talents, and our treasure to the business of Kingdom building.
Our Mission is to foster fellowship among our community of faith and the larger
community as well!!
We are keenly aware that fellowship builds relationship, and that the unity of the two
can produce spiritual and community results that enhances the church and the
communityin many positives.
